About Center of the World
Where the mountains
become home
Center of The World is a family-run complex with nine apartments, opened in 2022. It sits at 1,555 metres above sea level, inside Durmitor National Park and just outside Žabljak, and welcomes guests from May to November. Slobo and his family welcome every guest personally, share local tips and make sure everyone feels comfortable and at home. Home-cooked breakfast and dinner can be ordered — enjoyed on our terrace with a beautiful view, the perfect spot to eat, unwind, share time together and truly feel the spirit of the mountains. In Podgorica, our restaurants Trastevere and Trastevere Rooftop await you — places that bring together authentic flavours, a welcoming ambience and a special atmosphere to enjoy at any moment.
The apartments are finished in a warm mountain style, with natural details that keep them cosy throughout your stay. Each unit has a private bathroom, a kitchen and a terrace with a view of the mountain peaks. Wide meadows, hiking trails and untouched nature are right nearby, while Black Lake, the centre of Žabljak and other well-known attractions are only a short drive away.

Every morning the family serves a generous home-cooked breakfast — continental, vegan and gluten-free options, freshly baked pastries, homemade cheese and local specialties. Guests say it is more than you can eat and the perfect fuel for a day on Durmitor. A packed breakfast is also available on request, and a home-cooked dinner can be arranged in the evening.

Black Lake
The jewel of Durmitor National Park is just 12 km from the apartments — a glacial lake ringed by pine forest and the towering peaks of Međed and Savin Kuk. A gentle 3.6 km trail loops the shore; in summer you can swim, rent a kayak or set off from here toward Bobotov Kuk. It is the postcard everyone comes to Žabljak for, and it sits a short drive from our doorstep.

Apartments Center of the World sit in a peaceful and enchanting setting of Pošćenski kraj, on the P14 road, also known as the Durmitor Ring, which winds around the Durmitor range. Throughout the entire drive you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views. They are just a few minutes from Žabljak, in the heart of Durmitor National Park's untouched nature. Surrounded by pristine landscapes, endless meadows and mountain scenery, they offer the perfect place to escape everyday life and truly relax. Black Lake is only 12 km away, while the centre of Žabljak is 6 km from the apartments. Nearby you'll find numerous hiking and cycling trails, along with the chance to explore the most beautiful corners of Durmitor. For the complete experience, we recommend arriving by car.
